Made from last year. Basically a bunch of sparklers duct taped together. It got so high it was taller than our fence and was out of shot. (Roughly 10-12 feet)

Adding 40% (by volume) Ammonium Perchlorate, as well as a small ammount more Al- powder, to Flash Powder dramatically increases the power of the bang.

One unusual composition is (by weight) 55%NH4ClO4, 15%aluminum powder, and 30% chloroform well mixed in. A typical ideal reaction might look like-
30NH4ClO4 + 24CHCl3 + 34Al --> 72H2O + 34AlCl3 + 24CO2 + 15 N2

In case you were wondering, the addition of chloroform does not add much energy to the composition, but it does enable the mixture to be capable of detonating, since it acts as an intermediate reactant between the fuel and oxidizer, and as a liquid can seep into the spaces between the grains of powder for good reaction rate. This composition does not burn well, it is something that must be detonated.
